The students will understand the functions of various machine elements, will be familiar with their alternative structures and applications and will learn to dimension basic machine elements.

The design of welded and screwed joints with a static load and basics with the fatique load. Operating principles, selecting and design of bearings. Principles of vibrations. Selecting and designing belt and chain gearings. Linear motion.
