Learning Outcomes

This course will provide the student with an in depth understanding of conveying accounting information to decisions makers in the energy business.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

Basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and business administration, and basics of renewable energy technology.

Contents

cost-volume-profit analysis, cost structure in wind, biomass and solar energy, budgeting, responsibility accounting, activity-based costing, balanced scorecard in the energy business, investment analysis, sources of financing renewable enery technology, pricing mechanisms and environmental accounting.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

Management Accounting, 3rd Edition by Swain, Albretch, Stice and Stice plus Lecture notes, books and other supplementary materials.

Lectures, assignments, team works and project work.
