Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course, the student will be able to communicate orally in essential basic care situations and routine procedures. They will become familiar with and understand some common healthcare-related text types. The student will develop confidence in using Finnish in routine nursing contexts and in conveying information both orally and in writing. The expected proficiency level is CEFR A2.1.

Prerequisites: Finnish 2 or equivalent (A1.3); Finnish for Nursing Basics 1
Sisältö
The course focuses on practicing everyday oral and written interactions in healthcare settings, expanding professional vocabulary, and learning key grammatical structures needed in routine nursing situations. Students will also be introduced to selected healthcare texts.

Arviointikriteerit
Grades are based on participation, assignments, and ability to communicate in nursing and everyday contexts:
Satisfactory (1–2): The student has achieved the course objectives at a basic level; can manage simple everyday healthcare interactions in both spoken and written form; knows some common phrases and their contexts of use; has basic knowledge of healthcare vocabulary and grammatical structures; attempts to participate in conversations in Finnish.
Good (3–4): The student has achieved the course objectives well; can handle daily healthcare situations orally and in writing; knows key phrases, expressions, and vocabulary; understands essential language structures and applies them in practice; actively works on developing professional language skills and participates in discussions.
Excellent (5): The student has achieved the course objectives with distinction; communicates effectively in everyday professional situations both orally and in writing; uses healthcare phrases, expressions, and vocabulary in various contexts; applies language structures fluently in speech and writing; actively develops professional Finnish skills in all activities.
