Osaamistavoitteet
The course continues building Finnish language skills for everyday life and introduces basic work-related topics. After completing the course, students will:
participate in simple conversations on familiar topics
understand the main ideas of short, clear texts and messages
write short texts and messages about everyday life, background, home, and leisure
use common phrases and high-frequency vocabulary
apply key grammatical structures
recognize features of spoken Finnish and Finnish lifestyle
pronounce Finnish clearly enough to be understood
Starting level: A1.2–A1.3 (CEFR)
Target Level: A2.1 (CEFR)
Prerequisites: Finnish 1 or equivalent (A1.2)

Oral and written communication in everyday situations: home, leisure, travel, work
Time expressions and daily activities
Home and city environment
Basic work-life topics
Grammar: local cases, object usage, verb types, noun types, past tense, expressing opinions
Cultural insights and spoken language basics

Arviointikriteerit
Students are evaluated based on participation, assignments, and ability to communicate in simple everyday situations.
Satisfactory (1–2): Can respond to familiar questions and write simple texts; limited fluency and accuracy.
Good (3–4): Communicates understandably in familiar situations; applies basic structures; writes short texts.
Excellent (5): Participates actively in conversations; writes clear texts; uses grammar and vocabulary accurately; shows interest in Finnish language and culture.
