Osaamistavoitteet
The aim is for the student to internalise the view of tourism as a global and growing industry. Various sectors of tourism are presented so that the student realises the diversity of tourism and its effects on society and environment. Other topics during the course are the history of tourism, tourism geography, the roles and motivations of tourists and tourism research.

Grade 5
The student is able to evaluate, categorize, explain and argument characteristics associated with the tourism phenomena. The student is able to comprehensively analyse the touristic environment
Grade 3
The students is able to apply the main characteristics and concepts within the tourism industry in the right situations and is also able to analyse these in a certain functional environment
Grade 1
Recognizes the main characteristics and concepts within the tourism industry and is able to describe them in a certain environment

The course is divided into two parts which are both assessed according to group work (40%) and examination (60%). Active participation in contact lectures is required.
