Osaamistavoitteet
The student will become familiar with the main electrical technologies used in distributed energy systems. How the generated power is used in energy efficient way is also covered.

The basic courses of physics
Sisältö
The student will learn how the primary energy is converted into the electricity using power generators. Special attention is paid how the generators are connected into the grid. The student will learn how the electrical energy is converted back to the mechanical work. The core topics are the control techniques for electrical drive systems and their ability to save energy. The course contains laboratory exercises with real 1-to 1 scale processes. A windmill, power plant model and industrial pumping process are to be used.
