Osaamistavoitteet
Course Objectives
The course provides on information the drivers of project management and how projects are becoming important in current business environment. Projects are no longer about dealing with sequence of steps required to complete the project on time. It consists of supply chain process that starts with working with customers and suppliers, creating a disciplined way of prioritising effort and resolving trade-offs, working simultaneously on all aspects of the project in multi-functional teams. It requires much closer links between project teams and downstream activities, such as in new product development, integration with manufacturing, logistics and after-sales support.
Learning outcome
The objective of the course is directed at the following learning outcome and competences:
developing a solid understanding of the context of a project such as the frameworks and the environments of working in projects.
acquiring knowledge about how to manage the project process including dealing with stakeholders and doing the initial planning.
students will gain knowledge how about to work in projects taking into consideration about the technical skills and socio-cultural dimensions.

Total hours are 135 of which 45 h scheduled studies and 90 h autonomous studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1h is included in contact lessons.
