Learning Outcomes
The student knows the methods and applications of using GIS in analysing the environment and energy technolgoy applications.
The student acquires capacity to produce information and thematic maps using GIS softwares and is able to analyse information provided in databases. The student understands the principles of the GIS tools.

Contents
Methodology of geographic information systems, management how to deal with and manage data and information resources. Geoinformation analysis, spatial analysis, network analysis.
Applications of geographic information in land use planning, in the control of the environment and it's qualities and in energy technology.

Practical training and guided classroom work on the use of GIS software and supporting lecturing.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student shows development tendency, masters the requirements and the contents of the study unit and can apply what s/he has learn in independent work excellently. The student has completed all assignments in a given time.
Grade 3: The student masters the majority of requirements and the contents of the study unit and is able to apply well what s/he has learnt in independent work. The student has completed all requires assignments.
Grade 1: The student shows that s/he knows some of the requirements and contents of the study unit and can apply what s/he has learn when assisted. The student has completed all required assignments with grade pass.
