Learning Outcomes
By performing laboratory experiments the student deepens his/her knowledge on selected water treatment methods studied on the courses Water Chemistry and Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes. By evaluating the performance of the studied water treatment methods, the student familiarises himself/herself with the relevant analytical techniques as well as treatment and reporting of experimental data.
Student's Workload
The total amount of student´s work is 81 h, which contains 42 h of contact studies.
Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses
Chemistry in Technology, Chemistry Laboratory Exercises, Safety in the Laboratory, Laboratory Exercises in Water Protection, Water Chemistry, Introduction to Technical Mathematics. Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes is studied parallelly.
Contents
Laboratory exercises on selected water treatment methods such as flocculation, flotation, chlorine disinfection and membrane processes. The conventional process of producing drinking water and waste water treatment with activated sludge process are studied with laboratory-scale treatment plants.
