Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student knows the most common operating principles of operating systems. He / she is able to install and configure a workstation and learn to use operating systems virtually. The student is familiar with the basic services of a domain network and the components, hardware and software related to the network. The student is able to design and deploy a core network component and create a new Active Directory (AD) domain in a new forest. In addition, the student is able to introduce complementary technologies to the domain network.

Contents

The role and development stages of the operating system. Operating system kernel, processes and threads. Scheduling and concurrency. Memory management. File systems. The fundamental network services including Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), name service DNS, DHCP service, Hyper-V virtualization, File services. Computer, user and group objects in AD database. AD replication. Additional technologies including Web Server (IIS), Group policies and Server Certificate.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student understands most of the concepts discussed, is able to plan and deploy all of the fundamental services and features and most of the additional features.
Grade 3: The student understands the concepts discussed in considerable part, is able to plan and deploy all of the fundamental services and features and some of the additional features.
Grade 1: The student understands the basic concepts of the subject treated, is able to deploy most of the fundamental services and features.
