Learning Outcomes

The student can introduce her/himself in a professioal way and also present a company and a product and its features in a business-like manner. The student can write appropriate business e-mails.
The student can read professional texts and understands the most of their contents. The student speaks and understands English well enough to cope in professional speaking sitations.

Student's Workload

The total work load 81 h, containing 30 h of contact studies and 51 h of individual studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Secondary school English studies, level B1

Business vocabulary, Company presentation, product descriptions, professional texts, e-mails messages.

Material supplied by the teacher, material retrieved by students themselves according to the teacher's instructions.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Blended learning: independent studying online, various methods of online teaching, oral and independently completed written assignments and exercises online.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student is able to communicate fluently, almost without mistakes, both in speech and in writing. S/he has an extensive vocabulary of the field and understands field-specific texts without difficulty.
Grade 3: The student knows the essential vocabulary and understands the texts in the field. S/he is able to participate in a work-related conversation, with occasional mistakes and errors in the speech.
Grade 1: The student knows the basic vocabulary of the field and understands the main points of texts in the field. S/he can follow work discussions and can give a presentation by reading it from the paper.

Continous assessment (assignments, exercises) and exam.
