Learning Outcomes

In the Basics of Private Law course, the student is introduced to legal thinking and gets to know an overview of the key legal acts of private law.
S/He practices the use of legal sources, is able to utilize the Finlex database in data acquisition and uses
other legal sites and to acquire the capacity to apply legal knowledge and to understand the importance of legal sources in the field of study.
In addition, the student gets to know the basic legal concepts and gets acquainted with the Finnish legal system and understands its commonalities with the EU norms.

Student's Workload

The total number of hours is 81 h, of which 33 + 1 h is contact teaching and 49 h is independent work

1 cr = 27 h of student work.

The self-assessment task does not affect the formation of the grade. The task is common to all courses / modules and the answers are used to develop the course / module. The assignment is done with an E-form, which link can be found in Moodle for the course.

In the exam and assignment option, possible learning assignments are assessed with 0-3 points, which are added to the total score of the exam.

The student can also do additional exercises. These bonus missions generate 0.25 points / mission.
