Learning Outcomes

The student is familiar, and comfortable with, different communication situations in working life and responds appropriately in Swedish. They understand the main message when listening to customers, colleagues, and other work-related partners and can communicate, provide information, and essential instructions to them. The student comprehends the key points of both spoken and written informational texts related to their work or field. They also understand that language learning is a continuous process and that progress is possible regardless of their starting level. The most important factors are their own initiative, willingness to learn, and doing their best to improve their communication skills (written and oral) in Swedish.

Assessment Criteria

Proficiency Level 1: The student can participate in the most common and predictable workplace communication situations and uses simple structures and individual words in their communication. During the course, the student develops their knowledge of vocabulary related to their field. Their attitude toward language learning is positive.

Proficiency Level 3: The student manages reasonably well in common and predictable workplace communication situations and uses structures and phrases in a fairly idiomatic way. The student is able to use the vocabulary related to their field that they have learned during the course. Their attitude toward language learning is positive.

Proficiency Level 5: The student navigates various workplace communication situations well, has a strong command of grammatical structures, and uses them in a versatile manner. The student uses vocabulary and expressions related to their field fluently and idiomatically. Their attitude toward language learning is positive.

Assessment Methods

Continuous process assessment: active participation, attitude, and effort.
Completed exercises and assignments written and oral.
Vocabulary tests. Written exam.

During that session, we will go through the course assignments, objectives, and requirements.

The same requirements apply to everyone, and all students complete the same tasks.
You will need a computer in class, and it is recommended to have a pen and paper as well.

In this course, the oral language proficiency level of the State Administration Language Examination will be completed.
