Learning Outcomes

The thesis is student's independent project-work, the aim of which is to train a graduate student for IT work.

The goal is for the student to:
- knows theoretical aspects of the IT industry
- is able to use appropriate methods of research and project work
- is able to make appropriate solutions
- can work consistently and systematically
- is able to search and use theoretical source material
- practicing literary, pictorial and oral expression

The purpose of the thesis is to combine theory with practice in IT-field and prepares the student for IT expert job.

Total work load of the course 405 h scheduled and autonomous studies

The nature of the thesis can be e.g. project or demonstration type or research project.

Assessment Criteria

5: utilise, apply and assess critically theories, concepts and methods competently in various situations
- combine, concepts and phenomena and form logical entities from them
- produce new information
- justify critically the choices made in the information retrieval from a professional, scientific and ethical point of view
- classify and compare various sources of information
- structure information obtained and modify it for various purposes and draw conclusions
- assess and justify the correctness and reliability of information both theoretically and applying it to one’s own work
- justify, giving the theoretical base, for the solutions made when acting in tasks of an expert
- solve independently demanding problems using various problem-solving methods
- analyse and assess critically the needs for development in the field and present development measures fluently and logically both in writing and in speech using modern presentations technology
