Learning Outcomes

The goal of this course is to introduce student to fundamental networking concepts and technologies. Student will be familiar with local area network (LAN) services, will master the structured cabling systems and architecture of LANs and will be able to design a LAN. Student will also master the basics of network models like OSI model and TCP/IP network services and protocols. The emphasis is on Local Area Networks.

Local Area Network (LAN) services. Cabling systems and architecture of LANs. Ethernet, network models and Internet. Basic services of TCP/IP networks.
