Learning Outcomes

The course will give the students elementary knowledge of the Finnish language. The students learn the pronunciation, structures and vocabulary of standard Finnish and gain an insight into the Finnish culture. The students practise communicating in Finnish in everyday situations.

Grade 5: The student shows the ability and understanding of how to use and study a new language (Finnish) in a versatile manner.

Grade 3: The student shows adequate skills in the new language (Finnish) in the situations studied on the course.

Grade 1: The student can produce, recognise and understand the basics of the Finnish language.

Assessment Methods

Active class participation, completed assignments, oral and written examinations. Numerical (0-5).
