Learning Outcomes

Students are aware of the importance of preventive work in health promotion and implement planned public health nursing in a multi-professional co-operation, remembering the family´s and individual´s needs of guidance and counselling.

Public Health Nursing of Child, School Age Child and Adolescent

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Supervised practical training at postnatal clinic, school health/student health care, 12 cr (8 weeks).
Learning assignments.
Excercises 1 cr.

Assessment Criteria

Pass-evaluation:

The student
- is able to assess the client's health taking into account the individual differences
- is able to use the health care monitoring and screening methods
- is able to guide and support the clients with special needs using the multi-professional co-operation network
- is able to provide information on health promotion priorities

Fail-evaluation
The student
- is not able to work independently at the end of the clinical practice and has a weak motivation to work
- the scientific knowledge basis is weak and partly faulty
- has weak interaction skills and has an ignorant attitude towards the clients
- is not able to do realistic self-evaluation
