Learning Outcomes

The student understands the planning process of an application level data structure designed for Internet and intranet. He can consider requirements for usability and current standards and is able to design and build the UI of a working application.

Total work load of the course: 135 h
- of which scheduled studies: 80 h
- of which autonomous studies: 55 h
The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

Basic knowledge of systems analysis, HTML and CSS.

Contents

Description of design using proper UML diagrams. The UI will be planned using appropriate UI development tools and will be built using HTML and CSS.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

Current material available on the Internet as informed by the lecturer.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The learning process will advance through progressive exercises to the required level of competence.

Learning by producing methods are used.

Assessment Criteria

5 = The student is able to prefer suitable design methods and to improve/adapt new design methods in web site design considering aforementioned aspects. At least 75% of the UI design implemented in the exercise using HTML and CSS.
3 = The student is able to design a usable and maintainable web site, which is based on the basic standards and can be used by the mainstream browsers. At least 50% of the UI design implemented in the exercise using HTML and CSS.
1 = The student is able to design a usable web site, which is based on the basic standards. At least 25% of the UI design implemented in the exercise using HTML and CSS.

Assessment Methods

Exercises and independent exercise. Numerical assessment (0-5).
