Student learns to set up network services using Windows 2003 Server and Linux operating systems.

Contents

Students learn to set up a local area network and its services both in Windows 2003 and in Linux environments. This course is integrated heavily with the operating systems course, as the students are the same. Issues are treated in a meaningful order. Network services and issues concerning networks are studied using the two previously mentioned operating systems.

Lessons, problem solving, working in groups on projects, independent studies.

Assessment Criteria

1 = The student aquires the knowledge of theory for solving basic exercises and is able to solve basic exercises.
3 = The student is able to solve more difficult exercises by using the theory.
5= The student is able to apply the knowledge and develope own models for solving exercises.

Assessment Methods

Class teaching, tasks and tests and the student's ability to solve problems and work in groups on projects. Numerical assessment (0-5).
