The student learns the basic structure of computers, their basic components and how computers work.

Contents

The basic structure of computers, their basic components and how computers work. Topics e.g. How does the processor work; How does the memory work; Cards and Components within the Copmputer; Important Computer Peripherals; How does the Operating System work.

Informed by the lecturer at the beginning of the course. The course material is presented in the Study Portal

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, exercises, project work realizing a small network for company use, independent studies.

Assessment Criteria

5 - Student can be a expert member of the team that develop the computer infrastructure of a company.
3 - Student can develop the computer infrastructure of a company.
1 - Student understand basic concepts of the computer.
