Learning Outcomes

The student can analyze a business enterprise using financial statement analysis. He/she can identify and evaluate the factors promoting success of the enterprise.

Student's Workload

Lectures, written exercises and test 65 h, preparing for the test 20 h, task with Navita-business model application 20 h, autonomous studies 40 h
The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

The success factors of a business enterprise. Various methods, principles and stages of financial analysis. Theories and directives for financial statement analysis issued by Yritystutkimus¬neu¬vot¬te¬lukunta (YTN), adjustments to financial statements in accordance with the YTN’s directive, knowledge of ratio characteristics, ration calculation and evaluation, comprehensive analysis of a business enterprise based on financial statement information, analysis prepared by using the Navita-business model applications, 2 tasks, forecasting bankruptcy.

Regional Impact

The assessment of the economic condition when for example applying for financing or investing a company. Good profitability, liquidity and solvency to ensure the continuity of the region's companies and their effect on employment.

Internationality

The evaluation of the various aspects of international business finances. Continuous evaluation of the operation allows for competition in the international market.

Assessment Methods

Written test 50 %. Completed task by using the Navita-business model application 30 %, completed task with financial statement for a company 20 %, active participation, Assessment on scale 0-5. Average over 4,25 -> 5, 3,25 - 4,25 -> 4 etc.
