Learning Outcomes
The student understands physical and logical concepts in local area networks and also understands security issues in communication hardware and networks. The student also understands network management and routing in local area networks.
The student is able to participate in designing and implementation of local area network infrastructure and connections to wide area networks (WAN). The student understands company needs for network services and is able to manage software and hardware needed to meet the needs.

Basics in data communications
Contents
The Internet Protocol (IP). IP routing and IP routing protocols. Routing between several local area networks using Cisco routers. Essential techniques for connecting wireless, dial-up and leased connections to the Internet. Data security issues and global networks.

Reading provided by the Cisco CCNA certification program and reading provided by the teacher.
