Learning Outcomes

The study unit will familiarize the students with office tool programs like word processing, spreadsheet programming and presentation graphics.

Contents

The study unit covers word processing (Word), spreadsheet programming (Excel), and presentation graphics (PowerPoint).

In word processing special emphasis will be given to document standards, producing multiple page documents and using tables within word documents.

In spreadsheet programming special attention will be given to formulas and charts, transfer of data from external sources (e.g. data bases, text data) and different options in spreadsheets: tracing formulas, pivot tables and subtotals.

In presentation graphics the student gets familiar with basic graphics and learns how to connect presentations to Web pages.

Assessment Criteria

1 = The student knows the basic use of tool programs used by IT professionals.

3 = The student knows the basic use of tool programs used by IT professionals and knows how to solve ordinary problematic situations.

5 = The student has a more advanced use of tool programs used by IT professionals and knows how to solve problems according to the programs.

Assessment Methods
