Learning Outcomes

The aim of this course is to extend and develop the professional English skills of the student. The student acquires the vocabulary and skills needed for successful oral and written communication in business situations. The student also learns how to write different types of business messages.

Class meetings and individual assignments.

Assessment Criteria

1 = the student is able to understand and follow the main idea of a text / conversation in his/her field and and attempts to particpate. The student knows the essential vocabulary of the field.
3 = the student understands, follows and produces text / conversation of his / her field with some inaccuracies. The student knows the common vocabulary within the field.
5= the student communicates without difficulty in topics of her / his field. The student possesses an extensive vocabulary in her/his field and in general. The student is interested in improving her/his skills all the time.

Assessment Methods

Active participation in class meetings (continuous process assessment), oral and written assignments, portfolio, exam. Numerical (0-5).
