Learning Outcomes

The student will get familiar with the functions of Vaasa Polytechnic, the learning environment and learning community as well as the professional image of his/her own field. The student will learn the structure of his degree programme and its requirement and draws up his/her own study plan. The student will learn to use various information services. The student will commit to the studies, take responsibility for his/her work, and learn to evaluate his/her work and achievements, and plan the studies with future working life in mind.

The learning environment at Vaasa University of applied sciences and the support services (Winha, IT-systems, study guidance and students’ financial aid; health care and sports, international affairs services, virtual studies, library and information services, and Student’s union. The student's own degree programme (incl. specialised professional studies) and study methods, job descriptions in the field. Starting interview and appraisal discussion. Information about the studies abroad at Fachhochshule Kiel or at Southeast Asian university or other exchange possibilities.

Student’s guide, IT basics, the polytechnic homepage and the material produced by the library.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, exercises, drawing up the study plan, guidance discussions based on the plan. Group activities and assignments.
