Learning Outcomes

The student is introduced to the operations and learning environments of the universisty of applied sciences and to electrical engineer's occupation. The student gets familair with the structure of the degree programme, degree requirements and learns to draw up a personal curriculum and to follow it. The student also learns to use information retrieval and information services and the learning platform used at VAMK.

Student's Workload

The total amount of student's work is 27 h, which contains 14 h of contact studies.

Contents

Degree programme in Electrical Engineering, electrical engineer's occupation, VAMKs learning environment and support services, library services and information retrieval methods, student union activities, persona related to teaching and support services, starting interview and appraisal discussion.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

Material is mainly material found in the ICT environment of the school (e.g. Student Services on the VAMK website) and material compiled and provided by the teacher in electronic form.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, PC exercises, excursions and private teacher-student discussions.

Assessment Criteria

Passed: Presence in 80 % of the contact studies. The student is well-abled to utilize the course contents.

Assessment Methods

Assessment pass or fail. To pass the study unit requires active participation in the lessons (especially in PC exercises and excursions) and participation in the starting interview and appraisal discussion.
