Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, the student is familiar with the principles and terminology of the electrical powertrain. The student can discuss battery solutions, powertrains for electric vehicles and energy consumption from the perspective of the electricity grid and society. The student knows the basics of electric powertrains for vehicle use and the advantages of batteries in various applications. The student is familiar with the technical solutions of battery technology and can justify the sizing requirements of the powertrain of an electric vehicle.

Benefits and vocabulary of electric powertrain and hybrid powertrain. Basics of electrical drives and basics of electric motors and battery dimensioning. Battery management. Electric power converters.
