Learning Outcomes

The student becomes familiar with the periodic table of the elements and classification of matters, especially on the basis of electromagnetic properties. The student knows the chemical reactions and phenomena connected with combustion and electrochemistry. The student understands the constraints caused by industry to the environment and the necessity of minimising the constraint.

Student's Workload

The total amount of student's work is 54 h, which contains 24 h of contact studies.

Contents

Periodic system, bonds, formulas and classification of matters (conductors, semiconductors, electric insulators, acids, bases, organic and inorganic chemistry), chemical reaction (combustion, purification of combustion gases, batteries and corrosion), environmental chemistry (unhealthy substances and their classification, wastes, pollutants and sustainable development).
