Learning Outcomes

Student
- intends to educational science as a discipline and gets acquainted with the theoretical starting points of educational science
- familiarizes with the governing legislation and national plans
- is able to take into account the stages of the child's growth and development in the planning of activities
- becomes acquainted with co-operation with parents as part of parenting support

Contents

Student
- gets acquainted with different concepts and ways of learning
- is able to use the basics of the Early Childhood Education Plan quality manual
- gets acquainted with the history of early childhood education
- gets acquainted with municipal early childhood education plans and is able to compare them in the context of national guidelines
- plans, implements and evaluates pedagogical activities
- becomes acquainted with co-operation with guardians
- observes a child and a group of children
- understand the importance of play and positive learning experiences for a child's development

Regional Impact

The student develops his/ her skills to work in the service of public and private actors in the area in the job of an early childhood.

Internationality

The student develops his/ her skills to act in early childhood education in a kindergarten where the spoken language is other than the student's mother tongue.

Grade 1-2: the student
* shows familiarity with theory of the field when planning childrens’ growth, development and lerning supporting activities for child groups.
* knows how to discuss about high-quality early childhood education and is conscious of importance of cooperation with the parents
* knows in guidance how to work as a member of a team

Grade 3-4: the student kows how to
* apply the theory of the field when planning childrens’ growth, development and lerning supporting pedagogic activities for child groups.
* analyze early childhood education from high-quality early childhood education perspective understanding the meaning of the cooperation with parents as a part of parenthod support.
* how to work target-oriented as a member of a team

Grade 5: the student
* apply in a versatile way the theory of the field when planning childrens’ growth, development and lerning supporting pedagogic activities for child groups.
* analyze early childhood education from high-quality early childhood education perspective evaluating the cooperation with parents as a part of parenthod support.
* instruct the small group activities and promote achieving the goals of the group
