Learning Outcomes

The student gets a general view of multi-professional rehabilitation and is familiar with social, educational, occupational and medicinal methods of rehabilitation in supporting capacity. The student is familiar with welfare services produced in various methods so that he is able to suitably guide clients with social and health services. The student knows the orientations and resources of rehabilitation work. The student understands the possibilities of rehabilitation in improving health and in supporting capability. The student knows differently produced services of rehabilitation so that he is able to guide clients into advisedly search for rehabilitation services. The student knows how to guide a client into using aid at home to support the rehabilitation and managing.

Student's Workload

Lectures 52 h, web exercises 26 h, independent study 94 h. The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

Rehabilitation, orientations and developments of rehabilitation. Different forms of social rehabilitation. Service guidance. Educational rehabilitation, professional special education, professional rehabilitation, labour administration’s service system and rehabilitating work. Different forms and tools of medicinal rehabilitation and the acquisition of them, KELA’s rehabilitation benefits.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student knows how to evaluate the functionality of the rehabilitation system and how to develop the forms of rehabilitation in a client-based manner.
Grades 1-2: The student recognizes the working methods of occupational, educational, social and medical rehabilitation.
Grades 3-4: The student knows how to apply the methods of rehabilitation into client cases and how to combine rehabilitation methods into functional paths of rehabilitation.
Grades 1-2: The student recognizes the working methods of occupational, educational, social and medical rehabilitation.

Assessment Methods

Passing the web assignments. Exam. Numeric evaluation.
