Learning Outcomes

The student gets a general view of multi-professional rehabilitation and is familiar with social, educational, occupational and medicinal methods of rehabilitation when supporting capability. The student is familiar with welfare services produced in various methods so that he is able to suitably guide clients with social and health services.The student knows how to analyze the relations between society, culture, community and individual welfare and health. The student knows how to support the client and client groups to improve and maintain independent welfare and health and knows how to articulate voluntary work into a resource in the official service network. The student gets acquainted with ageing and changes in life and the factors contributing to them, and he understands ageing as a part of life. The student is familiar with ageing politics as a part of social politics and the service systems relating to them. The student is familiar with the legislation and quality requirements related to the ageing people. The student knows how to establish a service plan.

Rehabilitation, orientations and developments of rehabilitation. Different forms of social rehabilitation. Service guidance. Educational rehabilitation, professional special education, professional rehabilitation, service system of labour administration and rehabilitating work. Different forms and tools of medicinal rehabilitation and the acquisition of them, KELA’s rehabilitation benefits. Socio-cultural know-how and motivation, communal work, community work, social networks, voluntary work. Interaction between human actions and cultural, social and physical environment. Culture as a creator for welfare. Ageing and changes in life, ageing politics, public and alternative service systems, researches, legislation and the communal and national guidelines and strategies related.
