Learning Outcomes
The student gets acquainted with the effects of the multicultural development of the society on the work of social services. The student knows how to work client-based and resourcefully preventing and alleviating the social problems of people from different cultural backgrounds. The student has preparedness of using the methods of client work in an individual and a communal level. The student develops his occupational language skills.
Contents
Being a refugee and circulation. Interaction between different cultures. Tolerance and attitudes. Racism. Immigrant as a client of social services. Immigration services. Changing situations and risk situations in life, social problems, poverty, social exclusion, excessive indebtedness, homelessness. Child welfare law, laws of child custody and visitation rights, preventative child welfare work, measures of support of open welfare, central methods of working. Process of occupational client work, occupational interaction, solution-based working methods and special social services. Co-operation, multi-professional networking, forms and significance of social support, group guidance and team work. Texts from the own branch, communication situations in working life, oral and written exercises, writing exercises, content is integrated into own branch.
