Learning Outcomes

The student develops a holistic picture of guidance and monitoring systems within Health and Social Services; knows the main contents of guiding acts, regulations and statutes, and is able to apply them in daily professional settings. The student identifies and knows how to implement administrative procedures and knows how to apply the principles of expert organization in a working society's daily activities. The student identifies sociological phenomena in working life contexts, and is able to develop working society in cooperation with its personnel and client groups.

Obligations and requirements of EU legislation for services; control and monitoring systems in various levels of Health and Social Services in Finland; management of expert organizations; administration reforms in Health and Social Services; contract management; theories and models of management and leadership; sociological phenomena in working life contexts

Level 5:
- the student can make critical evaluations of the wholeness of guiding systems of social and health care
- the student masters the core contents of regulations guiding the field and knows how to implement them to professional activity
- the student knows how to apply the basic principles of management of social and health care expert organizations
- the student can develop work community in cooperation with personnel and customer groups

Level 3:
- the student understands the features of guiding systems of social and health care and characteristics of implementation of statutes
- the student understands the basic principles of management of social and health care actions
- the student understands sociological phenomenon of working life

Level 1:
- the student is familiar with the guiding systems of social and health care
- the student is familiar with the core contents of regulations guiding the field
- the student can identify sociological phenomenon of working life and principals of management of expert organizations

Assessment Methods

The grade of the study module compounds of grades of network and seminar assignments and literature examination and self-evaluation. Numeric evaluation (1–5).
