Learning Outcomes

The student identifies the patient's/the client´s need for care and support . The student plans and implements the nursing of a medical and psychiatric patient and learns to guide and supervise a patient/ a client. The student identifies the substance abuse problems and the care needs of an individual and community and uses different substance abuse treatment methods. The student follows the the ethical instructions and principles of the nursing.

Contents

Nursing of the most general internal diseases, neurological diseases and different forms of cancer in various nursing environments.
Maintaining and promoting mental health. Nursing and treatment of the most common mental health and substance abuse problems among children, young people and adults. Interaction and self-awareness skills. Practical exercises of clinical nursing skills

Grade 1
The student knows:
- how to describe the patient's/the client's need for care and support
- how to make a care plan and is able to implement basic elements of nursing care
-how to tell about the things related to the care of the patient / client
-how to follow the ethical instructions and principles

Grade 3
The student knows:
- how to identify the patient's/the client's need for care and support
- how to make a care plan and implement it in practice
-how to guide and supervise the patient/ the client with care-related things
-how to apply the ethical instructions and principles



Grade 5
The student knows:
- how to critically evaluate the patient's/the client's need for care and support
- how to make a care plan and implement it in practical care settings with a creative and many-sided approach
- how to guide and supervise the patient/ the client with care-related things using many different methods
-how to follow the ethical instructions and principles with a critical approach

Assessment Methods

Written Exams 100 %: numeric scale / grading 0-5
Participating in the practical exercises, learning assignments pass/ fail- evaluation
