Learning Outcomes

During different periods of life, the student knows the factors which affect health and identifies the different points of view, theories and interpretations of health, mental health and welfare. The student knows the basics of sexual and reproductive health. The student knows and is able to describe the most common Finnish diseases and the risk factors of these diseases. The students also learns about the prevention of the most common diseases and about reducing health problems. The student has a command of the basics of preventive intoxicant work.

Grade 1
The student is able to
-under supervision to identify the key factors that affect health
- find and use evidence-based research findings
- under supervision prevent health problems, work with preventive health care and promote health
- to follow the ethical principles

Grade 3
The student is able to
- on own initiative to identify the key factors affecting health
- find and use evidence-based reserach findings
- work independenlty and prevent health problems, work with preventive health care and promote health

- follow the ethical principles and to evaluate how well (s)he and the work community follow the ethical principles

Grade 5
the student is able to
- independently and with a client-oriented approach to identify the key factors that affect health
- to use a critical approach when finding, using and evaluating evidence-based research findings in developing nursing
- work independently and with a client-oriented approach with preventive work methods and promote health
- follow the ethical principles and to develop the work community´s and his/her own ability to follow the ethical principles
