Learning Outcomes
Elderly nursing:
The student will acquire a positive attitude to elderly people and elderly nursing. The student will in cooperation with the staff and the elderly person learn to estimate the need for nursing and the resources of the ageing person. The student will learn to plan and implement holistic care and nursing in cooperation with the staff and the elderly person. The students will be held responsible for their own studying, tasks and work within geriatric nursing. The students will apply their knowledge in practical settings. The student knows how to communicate with the ageing persons as well as with the whole work community.
Primary health care:
The student learns how to interact with the patient and the patient´s family as a part of the clinical team. The student learns how to apply the theoretical knowledge of the nursing process and nursing methods in clinical nursing.

Clinical placement, bedwards in health centres and geriatric nursing wards.

Obtaining the course objectives. Written assignment. Pass/fail assessment.
