Learning Outcomes

The student knows the Finnish Pharmacotherapy legislation. The student knows the ways to give drugs to patients as enteral-, parenteral and other ways. The student understands the ethical and legal responsibility in giving drugs to patients. The student can calculate the doses also without calculator.

Contents

Applications of calculating the drugdoses for patients. Giving drugs enteral (oral), injections and in infusionform. Guiding the patient in taking drugs right and observing the effects. Cooperating with doctors and patients. Order and store the drugs at the ward. Documenting pharmacoterapy. To use aseptics in managing with drugs.

Exam in theoretical part and mathematical and calculations. No false calculations allowed in dose calculation. Numeric scale.
