Learning Outcomes

The student understands the way of thinking in social pedagogy and developmental psychology. The student understands the prevailing conformities to law of lifelong development and learns the basics of working in social pedagogy. The student gets acquainted with human socialization, individual differences, growth, development and operations that support welfare, and communality in different operational environments.

Student's Workload

The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

The social character of education, cultural differences in education and socialization. The social pedagogic way of thinking and perspective in education. Growing as a human to a member of a community. Social capital in education collaboration. Central theories and thinking methods of developmental psychology. Attachment theory. Temperament. Experiencing the self in human relationships. Span of life -thinking.

Learning assignment, group exercises, group assignments, lectures and independent study.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student knows how to apply what he has learned in relation to his own socialization process, knows how to mirror things from theory to experience.
Grade 3-4: The student understands the role of social pedagogy and developmental psychology and knows how to discern the significance of education and development and knows how to evaluate how it unfolds in a chosen context.
Grade 1-2: The student understands the basics of the work in social pedagogy and developmental psychology and recognizes the socio-political significance of education, development and socialization.

Assessment Methods

Participation in the lectures, passing and presenting the group assignment, writing an essay. Group exam.
