Learning Outcomes
The student is familiar with the changes related to ageing, the effects of them into the capability of the ageing person and the current researches of the topic. The student is familiar with the different methods of measuring and supporting capability and knows how to apply them in practical client situations. The student gets acquainted with gerontologic social work. The student knows how to prepare and realize a capability-supporting operational event.
Student's Workload
Altogether 81 h, of which 40 contact hours and 41 hours of independent study. The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
Lectures, teaching discussions, preparation and realization of an operational event.
Assessment Criteria
Grades 1-2: The student is familiar with the changes in capability related to ageing. He knows methods of measuring capability. He participates in the operational event.
Grades 3-4: The student is familiar with the changes in capability and is able to use the methods for measuring capability and apply them in maintaining the capability. The student is familiar with current research and knows how to apply them in practice. He participates in the operational event as an active member.
Grade 5. The student is familiar with the different levels of capability and knows how to evaluate the capability supporting methods that are needed to them. The student is familiar with current research and knows how to apply it in practice. The student knows how to evaluate and develop the methods of capability considering the special features of the aged. He participates in the planning and realization of the operational event as an active member.
Assessment Methods
Exam/assignment 50 %, report (operational event) 50 %.
