The student understands the structure of the Finnish day-care system and the objectives of the day care in Finland. The student learns how to support families in early childhood education. The student knows different pedagogical trend in early childhood education.

Principles, practice and trends in early childhood education. Day-care as a part of the educational community. Day-care as a support to family and child protection. Alternative pedagogical trends in early childhood education.
