Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to independently make entries based on receipts using the Visma Fivaldi software. The student will be able to record payroll-related entries, accruals, and prepare financial statements using the Visma Fivaldi software. The student will also be able to evaluate and utilize the information produced by accounting to support business decision-making. Additionally, the student will be able to justify the importance of payroll management as part of the company's operations and understand key payroll-related concepts. The student will be familiar with the employer's personnel-related costs and the deductions from employees' salaries, be able to handle expense reimbursements, and calculate the monetary values of fringe benefits. Furthermore, the student will be able to calculate holiday pay and overtime compensation.

1 ECTS credit equals 27 hours of work, so 5 ECTS credits equal 135 hours, distributed in the course as follows:

Basics of accounting

Contents

Basic concepts of business accounting and accounting rules, payroll entries, allocation of acquisition cost with accruals, recording based on receipts, use of the Visma Fivaldi accounting software for bookkeeping and financial statements. Analyzing the financial condition of a company using financial statement reports. Statutory insurances (employee pension insurance, unemployment insurance, group life insurance, and accident insurance), withholding tax, health insurance contributions, expense reimbursements, fringe benefits, holiday pay, collective agreements, working hours in payroll, payroll entries.

Regional Impact

Applying basic accounting and payroll management skills for the use of regional and international businesses. Accounting and financial statements are statutory procedures that local entrepreneurs must master.

Internationality

Understanding the basics of accounting and payroll management for those working in international roles. The financial statement is an important report for planning international operations.
