Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the legislation concerning family, inheritance, and child law and will be able to apply what they have learned in practical work situations. The student will also understand the impact of internationality in the field of family and inheritance law. The student will master the legislation related to different forms of partnerships and understand the legal implications of the partnership during and after the relationship. The student will also have a comprehensive understanding of the various broad questions related to the child's legal status. Additionally, the student will understand and manage the significance and implications of inheritance law issues in various situations.

Student's Workload

In higher education, 1 credit corresponds to 27 hours of student work. For this course, that means 135 hours, which are divided into contact hours, exercises, and independent study.

Contents

Internalizing the overall picture of family, child, and inheritance law and knowing the existing legislation.
Internalizing the legislation related to different forms of partnerships and understanding their impact during and after the relationship.
Comprehending and internalizing the broad legal issues related to the child's status.
Understanding and internalizing inheritance law issues and the various situations related to inheritance law.
Understanding internationality in the context of family, child, and inheritance law.

Teaching methods depend on whether it is a contact teaching group or a blended learning implementation.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student has an excellent command of the key concepts and principles of family and inheritance law. The student has a clear and comprehensive understanding of the different areas of family and inheritance law and their interrelations. The student can apply what they have learned in practice excellently.

Grade 3: The student has a good command of the key concepts and principles of family and inheritance law. The student has a good overall understanding of the different areas of family and inheritance law and their interrelations. The student can apply what they have learned in practice well.

Grade 1: The student has a satisfactory command of the key concepts and principles of family and inheritance law. The student has a formed understanding of the different areas of family and inheritance law and their interrelations. The student can apply what they have learned in practice satisfactorily.

The course exercises are reviewed during the final lessons of the course. When the student is present, they can compare their own answers with those discussed in class to receive feedback on how well they have solved the tasks and mastered the course topics.

Due to the nature of the subject, the assessment emphasizes a comprehensive understanding and mastery of the subject matter. This is demonstrated through two different exams. Exam 1 measures whether the student has mastered the course content and learning objectives. Exam 2 measures how well the student can handle the topics covered in the course and conduct legal research in a written essay exam.
