Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, the student will have an understanding of the role and significance of legislation in private law. The student will master the basic knowledge of the fundamental principles of private law needed in both private and professional life. The student will have a clear and structured overall picture of the basic principles of private law and will also be familiar with the relevant legislation. Additionally, the student will master the basics of the Name Act and civil rights. The student will be able to critically evaluate private law issues.
Student's Workload
In higher education, 1 credit corresponds to 27 hours of student work. For this course, that means 135 hours, which are divided into contact hours, exercises, and independent study.
Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses
Completion of the contract and obligation law course.
Contents
The course includes the following topics:
• Key principles and concepts of private law
• Domestic and international legislation concerning private law
• Name legislation and principles related to citizenship
• Privacy protection in the workplace
• Principles of compensation for damages
• Insurance law
Internationality
During the course, the principles of international private law will be covered.
