Learning Outcomes

The objective is to learn the basic language for everyday use and for professional situations. The student will have a positive attutude towards the German language and the culture in the German speaking area.

Student's Workload

The total work load 108 h of which
- scheduled work 52 h
- autonomous studying 56 h.
The assessment of one's own learning (1 h) is included into scheduled work.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

No prerequisites are required.

Contents

Pronunciation, basic vocabulary and structures, everyday situations, travelling, working life situations.

Internationality

The student will be introduced, through communicative situations, to cultural characteristics of the German speaking area.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Speaking and writing exercises, pair and group work, home assignments.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student is able to use the language on a satisfactory level in spekaing and in writing.
Grade 3: The student is able to use the language well, both in speaking and in writing and is able to apply what s/he has learnt.
Grade 5: The student is able to use the language on an excellent level in spekaing and in writing and is able to apply what s/he has learnt on a more challenging level.

Assessment Methods

Active participation in the contact teaching, speaking and writing assignments and written exam.
