Learning Outcomes

Students become familiar with the events leading to the emergence and historical development of the European Union. Students are familiar with the EU's decision-making bodies, their functions and mutual relations jurisdiction. The student is aware of the objectives of European law and the leading principles of law and European law, international law and the connection of our country's legal system.

Student's Workload

Lectures and exercices 40 h, preparing to the test 10 h, course work 10 h, self-radiant studying 30 h
The assesment of student's own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

The EU institutions and their functions, the EU and Finland, the European law principles of law and legal practices, standards applicability and direct effect.
