Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the tourism business environment and operations. You internalize the view of tourism as a global and growing phenomenon and conceive its historical background. You identify the various sectors of the tourism industry together with its complex character and its social, economic and environmental impacts. You conceptualize the local, regional, national, international and global dimensions of the tourism environment and you have the capacity to analyse them.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 5
The student is able to evaluate, categorize, explain and argument characteristics associated with the tourism phenomena. The student is able to comprehensively analyse the touristic environment
Grade 3
The students is able to apply the main characteristics and concepts within the tourism industry in the right situations and is also able to analyse these in a certain functional environment
Grade 1
Recognizes the main characteristics and concepts within the tourism industry and is able to describe them in a certain environment
Assessment Methods
The course is divided into two parts which are both assessed according to activity, individual and group work (40%) and examination (60%). Active participation in contact lectures is required
