Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to plan and implement projects related to robotics. The themes can vary from designing a robotic cell, simulations and remote control, to designing gripping devices etc. The starting point is to apply already acquired knowledge and to look for new information as required by the respective application.
Student's Workload
Total work load of the course: 135 h
- of which scheduled studies: 60 h
- of which autonomous studies: 75 h
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.
Contents
The study unit will be consist of a design project to be carried out in teams. The design targets in detail will be mechanical construction, components, operating devices, safety, sensors and control techniques. Component libraries or simulations programs provided by manufacturers will be utilized as basis for the design work. The project will result in a document, including a stage-by-stage description of the project as well as the results achieved.
Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools
Material varies according to the nature of the project.
Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
Supervised project work.
Assessment Criteria
5: The student is able to utilise the methods learnt during the study unit independently and is able apply the learnt knowledge in new contexts.
3: The student is able to utilise the methods learnt during the study unit independently.
1: The student is able, with guidance, to utilise the methods learnt during the study unit.
Assessment Methods
Continuous assesment and the project assignment.
