Learning Outcomes
The student learns to calculate, dimension, design and manufacture a product entity. The student understands how a gearbox is part of the drive system and how the system can be monitored. S/He gets practice in acting as a team member. The student understands the significance of the design to manufacturability and manufacturing costs.

Contents
Operation of numerically controlled machine tool, operation modes, program transfer, editing and simulating. Groups of students will design and manufacture a two axis gear box.
