Learning Outcomes

The student is able to choose electrical equipment for applications used in mechanical automation and understands the effects of electrical energy. S/he is able to read circuit diagrams and know how to use a multimeter. S/he also manages the electrical work that is permitted to be done oneself.

The student will know the most typical applications of pneumatics and hydraulics, most important components and circuit diagrams. The student will be able to design systems based on the basics of pneumatics and hydraulics.

Student's Workload

Total work load of the course: 135 h
- of which scheduled studies: 70 h
- of which autonomous studies: 65 h
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

Basics of DC and AC circuits, symbols used in diagrams, electrical measurements, electric diagrams, switchgear, requirements for electrical equipment used in mechanical automation, electric machines and motors and their control, electrical safety.

The mechanics of liquids, symbols, designing circuit diagrams, components, calculations related to dimensioning of hydraulic systems, hydraulic liquids, filtering techniques and efficiency losses of hydraulic systems.
