Learning Outcomes

The study unit is meant for students who need more practice in both speaking and writing skills.
The student will learn to use the structures and vocabulary of Swedish more fluently and s/he learns to talk about everyday matters, such as education, work and current topics. The student will develop his/her communicative skills.

Student's Workload

Total work load 108 hrs of which 42 hrs scheduled work 44 hrs and 64 hrs independent work.

Contents

Spoken and written communication, tandem meetings and exercises.

Regional Impact

The student improves her/his possibilities to work successfully in a bilingual working environment.

Material complied by the taecher.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Contact teaching, Tandem meetings with Swedish speaking students in which Swedish and Finnish are used alternatingly, home assignments, and independent learning. The course is implemented in co-operation with Yrkeshögskolan Novia.

Assessment Methods

Continuos assessment, active participation in Tandem -meetings and assignments. No written exam.
